Art and Magick

I think that artists and writers have allowed themselves to be sold down the river.  They have accepted the prevailing belief that art and writing are merely forms of entertainment.  They’re not seen as transformative forces that can change a human being, that can change a society.  They are seen as simple entertainment, things with which we can fill 20 minutes, half an hour, while we’re waiting to die. — Alan Moore

“The Mindscape of Alan Moore” is a perfect prelude to “Does Tarot Work?” — that fifth post in the sliding magazine on my website’s main page that says “Coming Soon” after you click it.  (Does the slightly altered site design make sense?)  I should be done with that post by next Friday.  I’m having a lot of fun writing it, and this documentary is on point. :)

Enjoy the remains of your weekend!

  1. I recently posted Moore’s Fossil Angels to a couple places as I hadn’t seen it before a week or two ago. I think he is spot on in his vision and his dedication to it.

      • Thank you for your kind words! I try to find…some core that makes me feel that everything is ‘right’. Fighting the garish at every turn! That particular piece came out so much…more than I expected. I’ve yet to get a chaos piece I really like enough to put up, but it will happen…
